The fertile Jezreel Valley lies in the foreground. Nestled at the foot of the Hill of Moreh is the town of Shunem. The Philistines camped here before attacking Saul on Mt. Gilboa (1 Sam 28:4). Also, Elijah healed the widow's son here (2 Kgs 4:8ff).
